Opening of new building in Romanov Orphanage
On the first of June a small team of volunteers and sponsors was able to travel to the Romanov orphanage to the celebratory opening of the new building. The new building was built with express intent of having three classes, where kids can learn new skills.

Vision behind the idea
The orphanage has very limited opportunities, that they can offer to their habitants. The children are not ready to start real-life, cause, they were never taught how to cook, or wash, or develop any skill, that can be useful for them.
We wish to teach the boys to adapt to normal life so that they can take care of themselves and not only be able to serve themselves, but could grow and develop and make certain products with their own hands. In this room we planned to make three classrooms.

Celebaratory opening
At first, we participated in the celeberatory opening, where many of the children were gathered. It was such a joy to watch them dressed so nicely for the occasion, in similar patriotic T-shirts and jeans, the atmosphere of the holiday was all around them. Children prepared some numbers, and, what we found interesting, that even the ones, who didnt participate themselves, really cheared on and applauded everyone who did, those kids don’t know jealousy, in this sense. There was a lot of officials, teachers and volunteers gathered at the event. The concert part ended with children letting go of helium balloons.

Three new classrooms
The orphanage has very limited opportunities, that they can offer to their habitants. The children are not ready to start real-life, cause, they were never taught how to cook, or wash, or develop any skill, that can be useful for them. One of the new classrooms will be dedicated to taking care of children. With the help of the church “Almaz” and its partners, orphanage was able to buy all the needed equipment. These are: washing machines, electric stove, fridge and other appliances that will benefit the boys. Our goal – to teach them the basic things: to sew a button, make sandwiches, prepare some light meals.
The second class we plan to build for treatment of wood and working with the vine. In this room the children will process wood and make products with vines.
The third educational class that we are planning, is meant to provide work with clay. Kids can master it and we have enough natural material located here on Romaniv region. Also in this class we plan to put special machine, so that children can learn to make candles.

We are very careful checking and controlling the finances. We have come in winter, to check how the construction is going, if the equipment is not misused, and were very happy to come again an check all the progress, that was made.
