feeding Peptamen

Suffering orphans

Visiting orphanages, where orphans with complex congenital diseases live, we were able to find special children who, due to improper, neglected care, have a very critical health condition that leads them to excessive suffering and pain.

Because their bodies are on the verge of exhaustion, and their digestive system was not properly formed, children “regurgitate” the food they are fed at the orphanage, permanently deprived of the opportunity to grow and change, as the body simply can not absorb food. These children spend hours motionless in their cribs, all abandoned, experiencing hunger and pain in the abdomen, and so a year passes, two years, decades .

Why we have chosen “Peptamen”

Special nutrition “Pepamen” from the manufacturer Nestle, thanks to its special formula can very easily and quickly (within 25 minutes) be absorbed by the depleted body, mainly before the children can “throw up”. Thus, children not only absorb food, but also get the components necessary for growth and development.

During four years of working with such children we saw how exhausted young people who look like babies, but in fact are already often 10-15-20 years old, were able to digest food and this gave impetus to their physical, emotional, and often, and spiritual development.

We note these changes in children, and so do the doctors, the nannies, and the actual indicators – tables of weight and growth through period of time for children, who started to take Peptamen.

Changes in children

Children, due to such changes, start to move more, smile, grow and weigh more, and receive, as a consequence, more attention and opportunities, both from the staff and potential parents, than those that lie motionless in the crib, like  a “vegetable”.

Shvets Rostislav, 07.19.97

Diagnosis: Down syndrome, deep mental disorder.

Received Peptamen.
Weight before – 7.200 kg. He was bed-tied, not able to contact, crying constantly.

Today he can walk independently. He is active and naughty. He is laughing and looking for the ways to contact people.

How we see our goal

1) Help the child get out of the crisis. We know the specific names of children who need special care. We visit them. We feed. We control that everyone gets food in full amount. If God allows, expand influence on the child through special care (surgery, medical care, medicine.)

2) Promote the development of the child.

3) Support the adoption of the orphan (if possible).

What doctors in orphanage say

Doctor testifies about PeptamenThe senior Doctor of the Znamenka orphanage  Yudova  L. I., testifies:

“Peptamen is critically important for these children. From the very birth they have issues with digestion and nutrition absorption. Peptamen has the whole spectrum of proteins, fats, carbs, minerals and vitamins needed”.

Trips to visit kids and take care of them are held regularly

Our team constantly takes care of these children by visiting them. We want to share our love with them and answer their needs.
We try to have at least one trip to one of our destianations every two weeks. Follow the link to read more about our trips.

The kids regularly received their food

God blessed our efforts and the kids who suffer the most were getting their Peptamen food regularly. The number of children who receive Peptamen increased from 3 to 21 !
We are currently supporting three orphanages with III-IV profile kids. You can view the dynamics of our ministry by following this link.

Kids become healthier and begin gaining weight.

The doctors note that kids who take Peptamen become more healthier. They also gain weight from 40 up to 60%.

Finances for feeding the children with Peptamen

We buy Nestle food from the manufacturer with a discount. They lowered the price for us from $ 12 to $ 8. In addition, they provide us with free shipping. On the recommendation of doctors, the average need of children in feeding “Peptamen” is 160 g / day (80 g / 2 times a day). In one “Peptamen” can – 400 grams of formula.

Our plans

From January 2019 we are planning to feed more 12 children with “Peptamen”.

In the next 3 years we want the amount of children receiving Peptamen in our 3 orphanages increase up to 55.
